No, you aren't going to seize it that way. If you were able to push it in it's not seized. It'd also be pulling one way or the other.

Yea since it's the first time I drove it since I did the brake job over the weekend. It's just weird since before the brake job it had some soft *** brakes. It faded like all hell and I've driven it in the rain before, with no brake response like this.

This is a common problem. It's usually blamed on the cheaper set of pads.
The pads retain moisture and cause them to grab instead of all a slow stop.
I've had this issue with several Fords and one Tahoe.
I BET that if you drive it after it's dried up outside they won't do it anymore. Until the next time it rains.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Very informative. I will post up tomorrow when I drive the XJ.

Every time it rains my brakes lock up like crazy within the first 200 or so feet of driving. I go to the end of my gravel driveway and skid to a stop, get to the stop sign after about another 50 feet and skid, then I'm on the main road where I don't need to stop anymore and I'm fine after that, haha. I actually slid down a hill for about 20 feet before a stop sign after leaving my girlfriend's house, and almost went through the stop sign. I slid to a stop sign after work one day in front of small children. I felt like a horrible role model, but it was kinda fun. Gotta love not having abs

Not having abs lets me slide like crazy because it allows the brakes to lock up. Abs doesn't let brakes lock up unless you really stomp on them, which is still a rare occurance. That's why it's harder for state troopers to figure out how an accident happened, because sometimes there aren't any skid marks. His problem may not be because of abs, but I still gave him my input of what happens to me. His brakes might just be really sensitive because of the recent change, and the rain could make it worse.

lol, I know this. What I'm saying is that his issue has nothing to do with ABS.
Yours lock up because the road is slick and you're driving too fast.

Mine actually only lock up under 15mph, go figure. haha. If his lock up, the abs might not be working properly, or his brakes just grab tighter than the abs can account for. Just another thought that popped into my head. Not too sure if that would have an effect though.

I think you're missing my point... ABS does NOT lock up the brakes.
It really doesn't have anything to do with how much pressure is being applied to the brakes.
His problem is caused by something completely different.

I can say the abs ring and sensor are a bit rusty but I dent see that causing the issue. I hit the pads with some brake cleaner right before I left for work but didn't have a chance to drive it. Will post up later today
