I think i would take it to a small personally owned shop and let them look at it. Sears tried to tell me a vibration in the front end of my last car was my rotors which I had replaced rotors pads and calipers a month beforehand turned out to be sway bar bushing. Sears has morons working there

I had an issue where my front passenger caliper would lock up randomly about 7 years ago. I took it to Sears (my parents had a credit card and I was away at college). They told me I need all four brakes replaced basically. They wanted to charge me almost 900 bucks. I said I just needed the front passenger fixed and they said they'd only do what their brake inspection turned out. Dumb.

OK in case you folks handn't noticed Sears is a Department store! They sell clothes, home furnishings, and hardware. You really want someone like that working on your car??? Only thing I would buy there for your breaks would be tools to fix them yourself.
Why not just take it to wally world. That way you can get your groceries while you wait.

some shops won't let you bring your own parts in. I have a guy in my town that has 2 labor rates (45/hr for his parts....55/hr if you bring your own). Luckily my garage doesn't mind me bringing my own parts in, they get the labor out of me so they don't mind.
As for the OP, stay away from Sears or Monroe, etc. Go to a mechanic, always.

A repair shop makes their profit 2 ways - labor and parts mark-up. Let them supply the parts!
Do you take your own eggs and bacon to a restaurant?
If your parts are defective, they will charge you to take them off again and install them again. If they supply the parts they are responsible for their warranty.
We would not install customer' parts - they usually were Autozone crap anyway.
Chain stores, Sears, Midas Goodyear, Firestone etc always shotgun it - they don't just fix the problem.
At Sears - I'll bet they didn't even look, just told you what it needed.
