Whenever replacing rotors, it is a good idea to change brake pads also for 2 good reasons:
1. Any uneven wear from old rotors is transferred to pads, then they fail prematurely.
2. HECK, you're there already. Caliper is off to change rotor. Only takes a few seconds to slap on some new pads. Do you feel like doing this 2x ????
I usually change them due to reason #2

Depends on what your idea of terrible is... I've seen nasty that work better than anything, and I've seen top performance work like crap.... Hell, I can show ya what old and terrible look like, and still stop like a ****...

Then something is done wrong....they should NOT warp...Most common cause of warping rotors is using a impact on the lugs......a impact is not a torque wrench and will very every lug.....

A small amount of inherent warping is gonna happen, it might not be noticeable and severe, but it does just due to the thermal expansion from the friction of the pads...
Just the nature of the beast...

I concur with replacing the pads. If you went through the expense and trouble of new rotors you must have had serious problems. Pads are inexpensive and that way you know you're starting with all new stuff. Best to only take it apart once and be done with it and you have the peace of mind and satisfaction that you did the job right.
