Default Brake pedal pin wont come out.. UGH

Rebuilding my brakes on the ol '92 XJ. Upgrading to a dual diaphragm booster and a newer MC from a 98XJ.

Cannot seem to get the pin out that connects the brake pedal to the pushrod. Hammer doesn't do anything. Sprayed penetrating oil on it and let it sit for a bit.

Don't think I can get my air chisel in there.. Guess that's the next move. Or cut the rod and unbolt the whole brake assembly possibly to press it out..

Anyone had this before? The clip that holds it on was rusted badly and broke when I removed it. lol.

Taking a break for a bit...

I think I can remove the drivers seat in less than 10 minutes. Any chance of getting a large vice-grip in there to press on it?

10-4 on the break....

Will take another look at the situation after work today.

Ya.. I need to remove the front seats as I picked up some SWEET 95 GC seats on my last trip to the pick-n-pull. Seems that whoever tried removing them stopped as the seats were all the way "back" and unable to remove the rear bolts. I borrowed the battery-pack from the office and moved both seats forward. SCORE.

Looks like the front bolts will probably break due to the rust buildup tho. Its annoying, because I installed these XJ seats about 7 years ago and all the metal was perfect. Now it's all a rusty ****pile that I need to repair.
