Default Brake Pedal/Light Issue

So I got my brake lights fixed finally cause the other day they were not working at all, only thing is now when i turn my jeep off the brake lights stay illuminated until i pump the brake pedal down a few times to turn them off, i have heard it could be an issue with the brake pedal itself or the brake booster rod that meets up with the pedal. my question is should i replace the pedal assembly and see if that fixes the problem?

thanks for the suggestions

There is a switch that is activated by the pedal itself. I'd start there.
