Default Brake Noise

So I have a 91 Cherokee 4x4 that I have been working on. After doing a front brake job I have a strange noise that sounds almost like a playing card in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. It is only when traveling at >30mph and braking suddenly, but you can hear it for yourselves in the video below. It is at 15 sec, 27 sec, and 1 min 9 sec. Any advise would be a great help!

... how about some more info.. Where is the sound coming from i.e front of vehicle, rear of vehicle, center? Also do you feel any vibes when the "clicking" starts happening i.e in the brake pedal... in the steering wheel, in your seat??

Sorry I was not more specific. The sound sounds like it is coming from the front drivers side of the jeep. It seems to be coming from right behind the dash, which leads me to believe that it may be the master cylinder, but I don't know if this is an issue of a failing master cylinder. You can feel a small vibration in the pedal, but it's not bad. The jeep stops fine, cannot seem to find any issue with normal function of anything else (t-case, all gears, etc...).

did you just slap pads on it??? If so im betting you have a warped brake rotor.. Need to replace both of them and sand the pads smooth again..there only like 30 bucks ea. new. Mine done the same thing after i pad slapped it i drove 100 miles and still done it so i got new rotors it quit and stops a heck of alot better and no vibrations in the petal or sterring wheel anymore..

Double checked that, everything tight. The noise sounds like its coming more from right behind the dash. Maybe the master cylinder?

when you did them did you lubricate and clean the caliper slides? I have had a sound similar to this happen when I didn't do the lubrication and cleaning of the slides in my Buick.

I am planning on tearing down the brakes again and double checking the lubrication. If I remember properly, the slides on the drivers side were somewhat seized. And no, I don't have abs...

Did you ever get this figgured out? I think I have the same issue. It was fine last week, then...this morning I noticed it. I just had her washed last night, and thought it could be something from that, but I am at a loss.

i have the exact noise but it does it at any speed when braking hard. I replaced front rotors, pads, calipers and new brake fluid. Still...the noise continues. I'm doing the rear drums, wheel cylinders, and all springs and e-brake cables next week. I ordered a new master cylinder yesterday it should be in tomorrow. Next step is going to be the booster. I bought the jeep used with no motor and it hadn't been run in two years. All brakes looked new but i like to start fresh with everything i get. Also i have no ABS. Keep this thread updated if you find something out. I'll post back if I have any progress.

Can you feel it through your pedals? What brake setup do you have?
