Angry Brake lines

I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee Classic.I am replacing a leaking brake line that goes from a union below master cylinder to the rear fitting by rear axle that has a clip holding it in place. The line at the front has a ISO style flare while at the other end is a double inverted flare.I am using 2 peices of 3/16" line. The front that works is a 3/16"-EUR metric line which fit at the front. The rear line I was sold is a 3/16-JAP which will not screw in .It seems to start a thread and then get tight.Anyone out there had this problem and know what size the rear fitting needs to be? I bought the brake lines from Advanced Auto.

You need:
roll of brake line
flare tool
take 2 joints to a store and match them.

Both joints (nuts?) are american. I did the work recently.
There are 4 types of tread:
European
Japanese
English
American
I spent probably 30 min trying to find right ones.
Don't expect salesman to find you right ones.

Greetings. I recently repalced all of my brake lines. I re-used all of the fittings at the master cyclinder and proportioning valve. All other fittings at flexible brake lines etc are American (SAE) 3/16 inch double flare. Buy a roll of 3/16 tubing and repalce your lines. 3JeepGuy.

Or just get the OEM lines ready to install from the dealer. Did mine two weeks ago, both fronts and the rear.

Depends on the salesman, I never had someone come back because I matched up the wrong fittings but that's just me I like my customers happy

hey, i just replaced all my brake lines, i bought the new union fittings and brake line from autozone and the new union fittings did the same thing, would only spin a couple threads and then get tight. i ended up cutting a bunch of lines from a junkyard jeep and stole the OEM fittings from the lines and cleaned em up, they work great.

i also had an extra c8.25 axle laying around i was able to steal the fittings from, there was a total of 5 on the axle alone i believe

Thaks for all your ideas guys. I ended up using the ISO flare line on the front and put a double flare at the end of it and used the old fitting at the rear end of the second piece of line and put a union in the center for double flares at each end.OEM line had different fittings at both ends? WTF!! Anyways lines tight, bled out brakes good. Thanks again for all imput.I find a lot of good ideas from the Jeep forum.
