Would anyone know why my Brake light is stuck on? It just started not too long ago and I have no idea why it started. And just in case you're wondering, the e brake isn't on

I'm guessing something shorted out but I don't know where to start looking

 

check to see if the switch is stuck

 

if its not stuck its probably damaged internally, if you unplug the switch and the lights turn off then plug it back in and they come back on replace the switch because it has a short

 

Okay when I get back to my place I'll check it out and I'll keep you guys updated

 

what year is the xj ? I agree more than likely its the Brake switch behind the petal. If its a renix system might be something else.

 

It's a 1988 btw, sorry for the late reply, I've been fairly busy at work and switching work shifts ONCE AGAIN

 

get your brakes bled if you havent already.
