Default Bought wrong size replacement muffler

My stock muffler has a few holes. I believe the stock exhaust is 2.25 inches. I bought a replacement Magnaflow muffler but it's 2.5 inch. Is there anyway to make it work or do I need to get the 2.25 inch one?

Nick

I believe they make adapters that you can clamp/weld on.. something like 2.25 to 2.5 or w/e you need.

Take the Magnaflow back and exchange it.

they make adapters at vip or advanced auto. Or you could return the magnaflow and buy a cheap welded muffler and have it sound just as good.

Why spend more money on parts and extra welds? Just exchange it.

Well today I looked for adapters but I could not find any that would fit. I'm going to order a new one and send back the original. Thanks for everyone's thoughts.

Before I get the wrong size again, are the stock pipes 2.25 inches?

You could measure it and take the guess work out of it. Call me crazy but thats what I would do.
