Smile bought 88 cherokee...need lift help please!

hey everybody, sorry cuz im sure this is a stupid question i just havent leaned much about the mechanics of vehicles yet..... i have an 88 cherokee and i ordered a 3.5" lift and 31" tires..... (heres where i will sound like an ***) ive heard that if im puttin in a 3.5" lift i need some kind of "yolk" thingymobobber and other people said id be fine with just the lift.... i dont plan on doing offroading just a daily driver for the harsh buffalo winters lol.... so all in all im basically broke and was wondering if im good with the lift and tires or do i need some other stuff as well?

sorry if this sounds stupid but hope some1 can help... thanks alot every1

From what I understand from reading up on it myself 3.5 is just about the limit before having to do anything else such as a SYE (slip yolk eliminator) or transfer case drop. Some have had to with the 3.5 lift and some have not. It varies from Jeep to Jeep just because of differences in how it rides to begin with. If the leaf springs already have some wear and droop then the lift doesnt go quite as high.

3.5 pretty much is the tipping point from what I understand.

I'm sure at some point some more experienced members will jump in for ya.

also welcome to the forum and have fun with the Jeep.

install the lift, slap on the tires, if you get alot of vibration, then you might want the SYE kit. and if not your good to go without it
