Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly Compatability
I want to replace my assembly to a Bosch, but it looks NOTHING like the original equipment. Is this the part I need? I believe it's part # 67646.

If I can't get verification on the module, then maybe I can get some info on the circled part. I'll just buy a Bosch pump & a fuel pressure regulator, but when I search for the part online the sites say that a fuel pressure regulator is located at the fuel rail.
I removed the circled part from the pump module & it looked something like this, as I recall:

That definitely answers the module compatability question. It's for 2.5's, not 4.0's.
I'll buy a Bosch pump & regulator. I wanted an entire new assembly, but I guess don't have a choice as I can't find such a thing.
Thanks Mendax.

Is that for a '96 as listed in your profile?
'96 is an oddball year. A few had the regulator on the fuel rail under the hood. Most had the regulator as part of of the fuel pump assembly in the tank, and it's a one-year-only part. It is no longer available new....from anywhere.
Most parts houses get it wrong, assuming it's the same as 95 and prior. Unless you have an early one with the rail regulator, it isn't. (The link above makes that mistake)
If your regulator is still working, leave it alone and change just the pump.

Symptoms of low/high fuel pressure (running rich, lean, misfiring, hesitation on acceleration, etc) can be caused by quite a few other things too, the gauge is the definitive test.
