Bolt substitutes don't normally go backwards in strength.
The OE bolt has a flange as part of the hex head.
The ones from Rockauto come with lock nuts.

Email or call them. If all the bolts are through bolts with nuts an OE 14mm Metric 8.8 may have been replaced with a 1/2 inch SAE 8, which should be stronger .

Yep, I'm going to give them a call this afternoon. If on the outside chance that I could remove the OEM bolts in tact, these wouldn't work. Maybe they just sent me the wrong ones....

I spoke with Team Cherokee this afternoon and had to order the OEM bolts with nuts. Mellisa was very helpful in her capacity and I sent pictures of the bolt "pocket" on the unibody clearly showing that it's not accessible without cutting a window.
Basically, she said that according to the parts diagram and a local Jeep dealer, it is a serviceable item and would look into it further. I guess it boils down to what one considers serviceable and direct replacement.
I'm not complaining but just want to get all my ducks in a row. I do think that the product description is somewhat misleading and inaccurate (but not in a malicious manner).....

Got a price today to install the leafs. $200-$250' depending on any issues. Looks like I'll buy myself a break and let them have all the fun.....
I'm still confused about the bolts, but I'll have both sets on hand and will see who the winner is....

Epilogue..........
I had the leafs installed today and the difference is night and day. I can't believe how badly mine rode in comparison to the Dorman leafs.....
It now sits tail high. I believe they lifted me almost 2 1/2 inches, but my ride height was lower than stock because of the severely sagging leafs. I'm sure they'll settle in a bit and now I just need to get used to the new profile of it......
The labor charge was $211 and I consider it money well spent. It saved me from the potential of prolonged down time as well as the physical stress on my old bones........
I would recommend these springs for anyone wanting some slight lift without breaking the bank, some additional carrying capacity, and an improvement in ride quality vs. trashed stock leafs.....
I'll try to take some pics for those interested.....

Did they say what it took them to get the bolts
out? Was it just elbow grease or did they have to get the fancy stuff out?
Sorry for the thread highjack but who told you this? ISO class 8.8 is equivalent to SAE grade 5.2 and was not used by the factory on our suspensions. The OE was 10.9 - a significant difference from 8.8.
I don't want to see anybody ever think 8.8 was sufficient and get hurt as a result.
Also unless you replace the welded nut an SAE bolt isn't going into a metric thread very easily lol

Rockauto sent me the wrong bolts for those front leaf spring mounts. I cursed and chucked em. Cost me like $30! Sending them back was going to cost just as much. ;|

The mechanic was gone when I picked it up so I don't know how they did it but there weren't any problems. I had soaked the bolts with ATF/acetone mix as well as PB daily for nearly 2 weeks.

Been there, done that, got their rude emails, and I will never buy from them again, no matter how cheap their prices are.

I've had a great experience with RockAuto's customer service. Sent me some wrong wiper blades, the website was extremely useful and even anticipated the problem and identified what should've happened. I kept them and replacements were sent out expeditiously.
