body question

Hey i have a jeep that is rusting out in the rear quarter and want to repair it. My question is what gauge metal should I use and how do i go about replacing a small square?

Heres a better fix and free if you have a cut off wheel/plasma cutter layin around. Otherwise its worth the few bucks to gain clearance and end the rust.
