if you just run a heater of some kind along the molding itself til it gets hot it will just pull off. some of the adhesive may come off cleanly with the molding some wont. i used simple green to clean it up after, was slightly apprehensive about using goo gone as it says on the bottle it might cause damage to paint.

I plan on doing the same thing. I have a 96 country. And I want to removed the fender flares and body moldings and paint them black with bed liner paint. And ill do the bumpers too. I think the black and green will look better then the tan and green. I may not even put the pieces back on the doors....ill just paint the rockers and up a bit. Enough to cover the moldings that were once there.
