Just make sure you keep track of where the studs go, otherwise you gotta take it all back off and try again. It's relatively straight forward. I use the rubber gasket with no rtv, some guys use the cork and rtv. They both serve the purpose. Just make sure you don,t break the CCV elbows, they are a pain to locate new ones. Clean the valve cover thoroughly, clean the head thoroughly and you are golden!

The coolant leak is still unsolved though, I have placed huge peices of drafting paper under the jeep while it sits and it's all water that's falling on it. Few drops of oil, but no coolant. Where the heck could it be going? I also smell burning coolant/hot coolant whenever I shut her off and am walking inside the house. Is it falling on the block and heating up? Maybe that's why I don't see it anywhere.

Jeep has never overheated, always has run beautifully. Oh, and I put a new T-stat in late october, so that's not the problem.
Check the oil level, a valve cover gasket leak has nothing to do with oil pressure. Falling oil pressure could be either trashed bearings or a failing oil pump. A cylinder head with a crack near an intake port will suck coolant into the engine and burn it. Do a compression test first, then go from there.

if anything it could be a blown head gasket. just check and see if the dip stick has a creamy color on it. with the valve cover, no problems replacing it i personally prefer cork with rtv, apply it on and just snug the bolts down until you see it start to squeeze out, let dry alittle, retighten some. thats the way i've always done it and it works great.
