Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm working on a 96 cherokee 4.0. The heat and defrost work perfectly. All blower speeds are functioning and the doors move from defrost to floor. Once the slider moves from heat and goes to vent or a/c, the blower stops blowing. Put it back to heat or defrost and the blower comes back on. I read that there are 2 seperate blowers. Is this correct and where/ what should I look for?

Dash switch is probably trashed.

 

One blower you sure its not a vacuum issue just causing air not to come out dash ? Or you physcialy touch blower motorxand its not turning. Vents are vacuum operated blowers electric ....

 

It sounds like you may have a switch problem. No, There is only one blower.

 

Thanks for the quick reply everyone. I'm going to assume by switch, you mean the physical switch in the dash where the sliders are? And also yes, the fan totally shuts off.

 

Yes Sir, More then likely that is your problem. If you are lucky you may be able to clean up the switch and the connections. That is if they look corroded.
