blower motor question on 96 xj sport
How do you get the old one out and install the new one. I pulled the bottom dash piece below the glove compartment off that goes all the way accross left to right. Now if I push that door with filter on it forward I can see the motor I think but dont know the easiest way to get to it. Do I come from under the hood behind the washer fluid tank or from the bottom or top of dash? Any help or pictures would be great.
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks Kohler! Would that be the same as my 96. If so, what do you have to remove to get to the 3 bolts?

Thanks davida, I got it out but the used one I picked up is wired a lil different than the origianl. The new/used one just has two male prongs on it. I know one is the ground cuz its just screwed to the case. The original one has a green and black wire coming out of the motor case with a connector on it. I can cut those wires next to the old motor and put new female spade connectors on them. Problem is I dont have a multimeter or even a test light to see which one is hot. Anyone know whether the green or black one is hot. I'm assuming the black is ground but dont want to cause more problems.
Thanks

if you tie some wire in and touch them to the battery see which way the fins spin and if the air is flowing the right direction. If you have a vise I would secure the fan in it first and then touch the wires to a 12v supply (lawn mower battery if the jeep battery is to far from your fan for testing) any 12v supply should work.

Thanks guys. I tried the motor when i picked it up and it worked fine. It was not the exact same as the original so I spent an hour modifying it to fit and then hooked it up only to find out it now wont turn. Then I called parts store to find out they are only $29.99. So that is the route I'm gonna go now. Moral of the story: call for new price before buying a used one. I should be able to handle it from here.
Thanks
Thanks
