Unhappy Blower Motor not working

I have a 93 cherokee the air doesnt work on it at all. I bought another blower motor from junkyard checked the fuses everything looks good. I did however use a circuit tester on the fuse inside the passenger door panel and there was no response so I checked it against another known to work fuse and got a light. I dont know where to go from here. If it helps i wasnt getting a response for the cigarette lighter fuse or the blower motor fuse under the hood.

You may be having the same issue that I am(I brought up an old thread, but nobody seems to be helping me).

I think I located the problem to the fan speed switch on the dash. Pull yours out and see if the brown connector is partially melted.

Before you pull your dash apart ...

Turn the speed to high then wiggle the fuse. If it starts up or pops then you have a corroded fuse block.

I just checked a junkyard............all 7 cherokees I found were missing the fan switch. 5 of them had the "melted brown plug". I snipped the other two in hopes of wiring into my mess.

I may end up just finding a four position rocker switch and wiring it in......somehow. Any electrically smart people wanna tell me what prongs do what and where to run the wires?

That's EXACTLY my plan. I just need to know what wire do what. Surely a 4 or even a 3 position switch can be picked up at AutoZone for like 3 bucks and made to work.

Guys replace the blower motor resistor.......the switch is seldom the problem....high resistance is normally what melts the connectors.

I am gonna have to check that in the morning. I didnt try testing with the switch on. I did however pull the resistor and notice a huge crack over the block on top of it. Not sure if that has anything to with this at all.

I've checked my resistor. There is continuity between all connections. No springs are broken and nothing melted.

And if the resistor was broke, i'd still have HI speed on my fan....which I don't. I've searched probably 30 threads in the last few days about all this. My case seems to be the melted plug and the burnt up switch.

I dont have a manual yet. But I did check out more with my circuit tester i checked the wires hooked up for my fan speed and all lit up but one. Having trouble tracing the wire but not giving up hope yet.
