I have a non tilt in my 91 xj. I found a tilt type coloum out of a 1994 model xj. Can the blinker switch from the 94 work in my non til 91 xj ? Also, can anyone tell me how to get the blinker cable up through the steering coloum head ? I have the switch out of the 94 coloum, but I can't fet the connector to come through the coloum head. Any help would be fantastic. And thanks in advance.

I cut the wires off switch tie a string to one of the wires and pull out the bottom. Use other end of string to pull new plug down thru coloumn.

I agree with Freegdr, go down with the new after cutting the old. If your column is like my '90, to do it right in the channel provided, you will have to loosen the support bracket then it will slide down like butter. Here is a vid describing a '90 non tilt.

Thanks for the advice about cutting the old and using it to pull the new through. Worked great. Now all is good in XJ land again. Thanks guys.
