Default Blinker issues

Hi everyone, I am a new cherokee XJ owner. I am looking to get it running as well as I possibly can at this point. I have noticed something odd I was wondering if anyone has encountered.

When I turn on specifically my right blinker, it works, however, when I press the brake my blinker starts to blink fast and then my brake light goes out. I also noticed at one point I had my right blinker on and my passenger door was open and the ceiling light above the drive and passenger started to blink with the blinker.

I tried replacing the bulbs of both the blinker and the brake light, that was not the issue. When I put a new LED brake light in, the brake light actually started to blink with the blinker.

Any thoughts? Could there be an issue with one of the grounds?
Thanks, I am looking forward to learning from you all!

Grounds, grounds, grounds. See my sig, #1, for a link to pictures of the ground location.

Start there.

In case nobody has mentioned it yet, grounds. They all need a cleanin'. It chases away the gremlins.

I believe the problem exists either within the door wiring harnesses, and/or the special relay (I have a '96)

mine work ok, except I sometimes have the hazards and inside light activate for 30secs

this is most often initiated by opening the passenger door

One time it wouldnt stop, I took out the bright yellow relay, gave it a tap, and that fixed it for ages

I believe someone said those relays are known for a dry internal solder joint, which can be repaired

mine seems to be playing up again, I may swap relays from my other '96

Sounds very groundy

For the dome lights, this one from Cruiser54's tips might be handy (if you have other issues as well)

Obviously the theme of this thread, and rightfully so, is grounds.... the root of many gremlins....
Maybe I've got a few roos loose in the back paddock.... but can someone say whether or not there is a difference in the resistance going from the OEM incandescent bulbs to an LED conversion? Maybe there's a gremlin in that part of the equation too.
I could be off...but just a thought that came to mind.

Relays are way too cheap to mess with repairing them.
