Default adding a third brake light

92 XJ. Wanted to add a third brake light. Got one from a 99 Pathfinder at JY. spliced into the passenger brake light wires. Guess im sucking to much power cause now the passenger brake light is much dimmer than drivers side. Any suggestions on how to balance the brightness between the lights ??? Thanks.

you are better off getting one from a 93-96 xj they mount easyer and have the wiring.... it sounds like you have a bad ground...

I'm not completely sure, but I don't think you can just splice into a brake light wire. In your case, every time you would turn on your right turn signal, wouldn't it make your third brake light flash?

Nope, the turn indicator has different wiring.

Check your grounds.
Most common wire system problem.
Could be your XJ having a dna reaction and rejecting the pathfinder part.
