why would you put the transportation strap back on slave after bleeding? don't you want it to go in to engage?

I am having trouble with my 90 Cherokee clutch as well.
Internal slave.
I replaced clutch assembly and slave and master as all were corroded from sitting for a couple of years.
The slave went bad after only a few days of operation, would not fully release and would blow the cap of the master.
Got clutch kit warranteed and finally installed it, along with another new master.
Now I have a low pedal and it's stiff into first and grinds into reverse, even if I pump the pedal.
I've replaced the pedal pivot bushings, power bled the system, foot bled it, hell I even let it gravity bleed a quart of fluid through it.
Still have low pedal.
What am I missing? It's probably something obvious but I'm overlooking it due to frustration...

So on a ‘91, with an internal slave, I don’t see a bleeder valve. Very confused on bleeding procedures.
