Default BL Extension

Ok guys well I've got everything done on my lift EXCEPT for the stupid brake line extension. I just do not understand how it is supposed to be done, and th picture in the installation guide makes no sense at all.

Also what is an E-clip, and where is it located?

please

A brake line E-clip is a metal retainer at the bracket where a steel brake line meets a rubber one.

I forget if XJ's have those?

There is one at the rear. Holds the rubber line in the bracket, so it can meet the steel line.

Sorry for not telling you guys, but yes I am talking about the back. So I am supposed to unbolt the rubber brake line hose from the bracket where it meets the metal?

if i read this corrently, then yes. The new line will run from the Tee fitting on the axle to the metal line on the inside of the unibody rail.

In the rear I just went down to the auto parts store and droped 20 bucks on a new line. 95 YJ line is a direct bolt in for 3" more length over stock. Or if your running a bigger lift (5" +) a 92 Dodge dakota line is 6" longer. It's a better way to go in the long run.

Don't feel like messing with putting in a new brake line..
Breaking steel fittings loose, and then there's that hassle of bleeding...
Check out HSP's Brakeline Extender

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f61/howlers-items-5147/

Second item down

Bolts between the brakeline and the axle.

Several members here are running them. Includings yours trully.

The bracket is welded. The clip SHOULD be just snapped in there. Blast some penetrating oil in on it...

A bracket extended is a half-assed way of doing things in the first place. A longer line is a better idea. Not to mention if your bracket and clip are corroded in the first place, you may have some problems getting the lines apart. I ended up breaking my line off last time and having to reflare it.
