Default Bizarre wheel wobble

My front left wheel wobbles really badly, but only under certain conditions, perhaps someone can help me identify the problem! It only happens in one of two situations. 1: I am going down a hill between 35-45 MPH and apply the brakes. If I let up on the brakes and reapply them gently it will go away, or if I turn the wheels it will go away. 2: if I am driving straight and hit one or two bumps in quick succession it sends the wheel into the wobble. This is also in the same speed range, and can be stopped by slowing down or turning.

So, any ideas what it is and how much it may cost? Thanks guys.

All I know is it should have nothing to do with my lift. It's only 2" and this is a new occurrence. I've been driving with this lift for over a year and this hasn't been a problem.

Hmm. The only thing I can think of is the ball joint...?

ok, my thoughts were ball joint, or bearing, but I haven't had the time to take a look at it as I work 2 jobs in the summer and am so beat when I get home the last thing I feel like doing is tearing her apart. I have a very reliable, cheap mechanic who does my work when I don't have the time or knowledge, and I'd like to go to him with as much knowledge as possible on Monday morning.

Jack up the front of the vehicle, support with jackstands & start with seeing how much movement you can cause with twisting on the wheel up, down, fore, aft. If this doesn't work use a pry bar. There should be zero slop in the wheel/hub assembly. Is there alot of rust? maybe something broke or let loose. I certainly wouldn't drive it until you find out what the problem is.

BEWARE, it sounds like you have Death Wobble. No joke, it can be very dangerous. Read other Threads on here about it, there are proabably a thousand of them. Could be caused by yes a bad upper or lower or both ball joints, bad wheel bearing or bearings, bad Steering Stabilizer, bad Tie Rod ends, loose steering box(though this one always has a definite clunk), worn out control arm bushings, loose lugs nuts, Man get it fixed.

Update: Front right wheel bearing and U-joint were bad, and the bolt on the track bar was stripped and had become loose. No more feeling like I'm going to die coming down the hill!
