Bilstein Front Shock Mounting Hardware
Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased and installed the Bilstein 4600 series shocks on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport and the top mounting hardware (nut, bushing, washer) fell out while I was on the freeway. I've been trying to find out where to purchase these parts but cannot find them anywhere. I went to the hardware store for a temporary fix, but would like to get the authentic parts (or parts that are actually made for this type of thing). I called the Jeep dealerships in Los Angeles. They would have to order the parts (none were in stock anywhere in the greater LA area) but they wanted $41 for the grommet alone! I paid about $60 for the whole shock! So I was wondering if anybody could offer some ideas on what I can do to secure the shock permanently without having to spend so much money on the parts. I'm nervous that the hardware store bought items are just going to slip off. Help! Thank you!

I'd take off the hardware from the other side, take it to the hardware store and match em up. I don't know how much better a name brand nut and washer would be...
