The Big D60
Sounds like a pretty damn tough set up to me. I think that even with 38" tires you're gonna find that you have lost clearance. To add to that they are wider, which will put you in more situations that would require a good amount of GC under the axle. It will make you have to "straddle" obstacles, rather than going over them. If you are primarily a mud guy, then it won't matter. If you are in rocky areas, which your avatar suggests, it could come up. I would say do more lift, but 38" tires on an XJ is HUGE!! Please post your progress through out your build, as I have never seen D60s and 38s under an XJ!!
Regardless of clearance, good or bad, that thing will be an attention getter!! Peace out!!

There are plenty of XJ's out there running full width axles. I have thought about the GC issue, but I think ill be ok. I have done plenty of research, i have been glued to the computer lately. Im stuck on the D60 thing cause a buddy of mine is running them on his TJ.
Ive never done a "build" thread before, so im gonna try it. The plans so far are gonna be.
TNT truss/mounts
35 spline outers
