Long time reader, first time poster. Hope I’m in the right place...
Was having an issue with my 89 XJ’s driver’s side blinker. Thought I’d share in case someone else has a similar encounter... When switched on, the lights (front, rear, dash signal) all turned on solid instead of blinking. A friend recommended replacing the electrical socket.
) I was able to remove the old socket, connect the new (thanks again YouTube dude), and now it works!
This is the first thing I’ve ever done like this and I’m honestly still in shock it’s working. One thing I learned, be gentle! I actually had to purchase this part twice because I hulked out and mangled the connections the first go around 🤦♀️. Applying enough pressure to crimp the connection but not destroy it is a delicate dance. It’s also possible (/likely)I’m just doing it wrong. I mostly worked it out on the second try.
Looking forward to the next little project and participating in this forum/thread.
Thanks!
