Default better cooling

well i was surfing last night and came across a tread on another site and they where all raving about this part it is a fan clutch out of the 98-99 zj with out max cooling what it does is keep the mechanical fan going more. it will transfer more of the force in to the fan rather then let it slip. here is the part number #215149 from Advance Auto. $36.99. i will try this next week or two.

It does work I have not done this mod to my personal jeeps but I worked in a state maintanance shop and the guy that ran the shop did it to all 15 of the cherokees that we worked on and they all ran cooler and they were used in heavy city driving.

If you go check out the Naxja forums they have a couple threads on it. I'm debating whether to do that or go with a 2nd e-fan.

I am curious as well. I have no cooling issues but my buddy does on his 94 and this may be the trick he needs.

I just replaced mine last week with a fairly new unit from the jy. I have replaced evereything except the radiator and I do not boil over but it will run a little warm. Since the jy unit was only 8 bucks, I have no problem replacing it again if the ZJ unit will help. Radiator replacement is next on the to do list with a new 3 row.

The radiator is first on the list. The list of upgrades and mods is a long and expensive, but they will be done in time for Moab next October. The 89 trail rig should be ready for a little rock rash as well.

Cos is planning a fall 2010 trip in October. Overlandxj is planning his trip in May 2010. I probably can't have both XJs ready by May. I have a better shot at completing the upgrades and mods on the 91, and rebuilding the 89 for trail use by October.
