Hey guys,
Im in need of some new spark plugs, and wonder what is the best to use on our cherokees? For my impala, i have NGK platinums with Taylor spiropro wires. I was going to go with this combo again, but wanted to ask you all advice first, as different cars tend to like different setups.
Thanks for any and all help

I bought Bosch Platinum sparks, MSD 8.5mm wires, Accel distributor cap and Accel distributor rotor. Still in boxes waiting to be installed. For the price of MSD wires I hope it give +30HP

im looking into the bosch wires and champion plugs, seem pretty solid and prices not bad on ebay.
marcelo, i dont think its realistic to get 30 HP from plugs and wires. that sounds a bit wishful mate!

I bought sparks in Rockauto and the rest in Summitracing.
Just kidding about performance. The main reason of the upgrade is trying to keep the engine working while crossing creeks, etc.

Champion copper plugs correctly gapped and a decent set of replacement wires. You will be fine and save money over spending a ton more on hyped up parts that do nothing or cause problems

If I were you I would get rid of the Bosch plug and get the Champion. I put Bosch in my 98 and I ran really bad. I took them out 2 days later and put in the Champion gaped at .035 and it ran perfect. Bosch seem to foul out real fast in the 4.0. Also the Accel part are over rated especially for the 4.0. Not worth the money. All those fancy name brand parts are garbage in the Jeeps.
My motor still has the Mopar wires on it and runs 100%
I have no clue what spark plugs are in there, maybe still orginals too... But the plugs will be changed shortly. I'm going to try the NGK ZFRN

For the money this is a great combo but if you have some extra money to blow, I highly recommend MSD.
I also recommend Champion copper plugs in any pre-Powertech motor.
In the Powertech motors (2000 and 2001 Ignition Coil) to only run NGK V Powered ZFR5N.
That is just me and the experience I have had and seen.
Both the NGK and Champion should be gapped at .035

My 89 Renix gets Champion RC9YC plugs at 0.035" gap, current wires are basic economic Delco,(those MSD wires are very good!) last plug pushed to 143K, colour was great light to tan and no carburizing although by then a lot of center electrode deterioration and gaps opening up an additional .02" over original. My second choice of plug is NGK. No need for any of those fancy electrodes and the extra cost of the hype in a basic 4.0L application.

Damn, I already bought. I will try and see. Good to know about Champion sparks. Thanks. The Accel cost 14 bucks (I think, not a big deal comparing with lift and suspensions stuff).
