hi i am looking for a muffler that will be loud and still has a good tone to it. any suggestions thanks

whats the difference between the 40 series and super 44? what about a glasspack how would that sound?

I think the 40 is the basic model and cheaper. Flowmasters are bad ***** and sound great with 4.0's

I have a Cherrybomb glasspack on my jeep and its sound great..for $19.95 you cant beat it from AZ...Tj

The PO of mine put a glasspack on there. It does sound pretty good, but it also drones quite a bit in the cab.

Welded is always better to avoid those annoying leaks, but a clamp will do the trick if you are looking for a quick, cheap driveway mod. It's really hard to go wrong with a muffler on an XJ, just keep your cat in place and almost anything sounds good behind it. I have had a cheap turbo muffler and it sounded great, then a flowmaster, also sounded good but a little too loud for my taste. And currently I have a DynoMax UltraFlo and I love it, just the tone I was lookin for. It's all a matter of taste, it's tough to make a 4.0 sound bad IMO!
