Default Best headllight upgrades that are not leds

i want to upgrade to better lights that are bright white rather than the yellowish lights I have now. Would rather not do leds. Any brand/model I should go with?

Please see https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/headlights-203245/

Bulbs--Philips Xtreme Vision +100 or +130. Avoid Sylvania for sure.

Upgrading the headlights is one of the items on the first things to do when you first get a Cherokee. Years ago when I did this I went with the Sylvania Silverstar lights and have been very happy with them.

I went with an ARB harness and IPF housings. I originally ran the IPF fatboys with these but replaced them with Philips 130+ bulbs and holy hell, what a difference. definitely recommend them

Nothing wrong with Sylvania Silverstars. Been running them with a Putco harness for right around 5yrs. If/when I need replacements I'll go with these due to the cost of the Siverstars.

I got the harness, Rampage H4 conversion, and the Hella 80/100W bulbs for about $120 on Amazon and it was a big improvement over stock, well worth the money. In the picture stock is on the left, the H4 is on the right.

That shipping though

I replaced one of my dead bulbs with a Sylvania Halogen bulb and it lasted only a few months. My other bulb is a Sylvania performance that has lasted for several years now. I'm a little disappointed but I know that any random product can be bad.

Haven't needed to price the Silver Stars lately so I just figured they were at least as high as what I paid. They're still doing fine.

This harness. It delivers from China but I recieved mine within two weeks. $10.45 including shipping is difficult to beat. I’ve had the same harness on my ‘89 for years with no problems. Couple with the Autopals linked to above by EZEARL. Your choice on bulbs but even with the H4s that come free with the autopals you’ll notice a huge improvement.

I have had Silverstars only last a few months consistently. I have recently learned that Phillips makes better bulbs, and incidentally, much better LEDs for stock replacement. I realize the LED part is off topic, but just an illustration that they seem committed to a better product.
