I just used Chassis Saver. It was easy to work with. You can put it over rust, just not pieces of rust that are about to fall off. A wire brush on a grinder would do the trick. I hit this trailer frame with a six inch grinding wheel to quickly knock the big stuff off, then went over it with a six inch wire wheel.
Painted it on with a brush.
It can go anywhere direct sunlight won't hit it.
I'd use it again...

so with the liner on can you reach down and hold your hand on the tranny hump? I found carpet at a junkyard for 12 bucks and am really thinking of just putting that back in there, but if this kills at least 70% of the heat then great i'll save up for that and run the liner on the floor, and the lower side of the doors...

with that said I might look at doing the interior with it. but man it does get hot in there right now, and I can touch the hump, but I cannot keep my hand on there for more then 2 or 3 sec. I just hate to put carpet in it and it gets soaked again, cause it is a real bad mess...

Personally i wouldnt bed line or undercoat the bottom side of your jeep. no one sees it but you, if you wheel over any kind of rocks it gets messed up, waste of money, and if you fab stuff on your frame or underneath you have to grind it of anyway.

He lives in Michigan... Not many rocks around here unless you go way up north.
He's trying to preserve his jeep from rusting away. Chassis Saver, Por 15 or any of the other bedliner materials mentioned would help. Unless he's putting in unibody reinforcements or a long arm lift he shouldn't have to grind the coating off ever...

ive already stated that i see that you were writting back to the OP question now... i didnt say that you didnt read it all... i think it doesnt matter who wrote the original thread it would still be easier to quote what they said so nobody has to go back and forth to figure things out when they read this and things like this wouldnt happen... thats just "my opinion"... and around here everyone is "buddy" if you dont know there real name... but if that offends you then i pinky swear never to do it again...

Just finished putting the Herculiner (in black) on the floor of my 1987 Jeep Cherokee. I'm going to clean up the plastic trim and put it all back in, then snap some photos of how it looks before the seats are put back in. Turned out really well!

how much rust did you have? and what did you use to get rid of it, cause I have a rust issue, and I just used a grinder and some rust killer stuff from autozone. hope it works!
