Did you make sure your belt is on tight?? When I bought my Jeep, the belt would squeal so hard you would think a pig was getting killed LOL. A friend of mine tighten it and voila, no more noise.
OR, Is it a new belt?? If so, make sure you didn't drop any oil or any liquid on it, because it will squeal forever.

Interesting that you mention this. I was just thinking of my own serp belt. It has been squeaking some for a while now but it never seems to squeak under all the same circumstances.
Sometimes it only squeaks when wet then it stops. Other times it squeaks until I hit a puddle and it gets wet.
Very odd. I am going to just replace it to start with and go from there though.

I get this belt squeal from time to time. Mech. told me to start jeep with A/C OFF. There is a bearing in the a/c clutch that goes bad also. Mine is very intermitant & if I turn my a/c off before starting it rarely happens. You lossen/tighten belt at the power steering pump bracket. Belts are cheap. replace it anytime you take it out. I have a new belt behind the seat. Need to install it!

to tightin it you loosen all the bolts on the power steering pump and theres an ajustment bolt on the bottom right side of the pump tightin it up untill ur belt is nice and tight and retightin all your bolts holding the pump on. if it still squeals after that put a little vegtable oil on the belt and let it run

With a new ac compressor, if it squeals eventually it will seize and that's trouble. It's usually quite a while, but remember when it does, it takes your alt, water pump and power steering out of commission until you put a new belt on.

I want to eventually just delete the a/c all together and replace it with a pully. I have seen that you can buy them. Just a matter of time and money lol.
