Im trying to get my hands on a couple more cans, but because of my financial situation its one can at a time on payday... Lol. And of course there are a few other issues that need to be dealt with first. Hopefully this friday I can afford to get enough for the rest of the xj, we shall see!

I got a can of rustoleum roll on liner, they "Used" to sell it at walmart, but I think they switched to another brand. 1 gallon was enough to roll on the whole jeep, picked up a plastic tray with fuzzy roller (don't use the foam ones) and a cheap brush, and it was good to go. Few spots the rust dealer didn't do so well, so after this winter I want to rent a sandblaster, and sandblast those areas down, and redo it.

Will either type, the roll on, or the spray can stuff stick to the bumpers? and the plastic fenders?

My paint is not horrible yet, but the fender plastic looks like it was blueish in color at one time. I would like to paint them black, but this stuff looks and sounds much better. If anyone has had luck doing it I would like to know. Also wondering if you wouldn't have to use a coat of primer on the plastic to make it work...

yes, both will. you just need to knock the shinny off the paint.(sand them down) No primer needed

Makes sense... Are they easy enough to remove?

I ripped the carpet out of the back and plan on doing the inside back as well.. the plan is to do just the floor for now, but depending on how it turns out I may do the entire back area to include the wheel wells...

Im 90% certain the fender flares are plastic and I just scrubbed them real hard with a scotch pad and then rinsed it off, let it sit and dry. Also, I used dish soap and scrubbed it down again after that. Then just spray, stuck to the plastic just fine. The buddy I got the idea from to use this stuff, has his entire suburban coated with it and the bumpers, rock sliders, roof rack, etc. Painted with the bed liner, looks sick and works great for bumpers and anything else. Sorry i haven't finished painting it yet, work is slow. BUT There is hope, I called all my family and asked for bed liner for Christmas, so hopefully ill wind up with like 10 cans of bed liner...

Nice, did you just do it or have you had it for a while? I know its durable for a long time, but another first hand account cant hurt!

So how many cans did it take to do the whole Jeep?

I pulled all four fenders, and the two rear sections that attach to the bumper... two pieces have double coats, and the other four now have a single coat and I am still on the 1st can.. of course there's not much left, but to be able to do that much is impressive.. I plan on doing the bumpers as well...

I bit the bullet on the bed liner stuff. This was rolled on Rust-O-Leum from WalMart. I painted the top with Extreme Outdoor Satin Krylon paint(Moss).

I also brushed/bed lined the mirrors, drip moulding and roof rack.
