I knew about the fading issue before I did it, but Im not worried about it. Its not like its that hard to spray on another coat.

so just how durable is this stuff. Say you run a key across your hood, does it leave a mark?

Not really, it depends on how hard you ran the key across it. If you ran it against it enough to make a mark in normal car paint you wouldnt, but if you went to town enough to bend the key you could. But its still not that bad...

Ya like he said if it were normal car paint & the key scrached just enough to notice it in the clear coat, it wouldn't do much to the bed liner!!! Again if it was hard enough to cut into the bed liner... It could be fixed with a quick wipe down & 2-3 passes with the rattle can!!!

that is exactly what i did, i did it on my quarter panels in the wheel wells and along the bottom, i did 3 coats of undercoating and 3 coats of the roll on stuff and it looks great and ive had a friend hit it with a bat cause he didnt believe how tough i said it was, lets just say the jeep beat the bat haha, it worked so well

I tried that rattle can bedliner last night. Not bad for the convienience and price. Its a little shinier than i would like for the final go at it, but it is what it is. It was frustrating to try not to get runs, but even when it did it dried smooth on a single coat.

I also tested out "tree rubs" using my knife handle on it and thw forest camo. This was where i was most impressed. You could see marks on both, but for how hard i rubbed it i was expecting actual damage and there was none to speak of. I scraped some of the texture off with a fingernail though.

The plan is to set up and actually do pro spray on type lliner for max protection and a particular look im going for, but i wanted to use this stuff on the bumper as full thickness liner looks like itll have problems.

i used both and I really like the roll on Herculiner..

Used it on my lower panels and under-body

looks really slick with my forest green XJ

Super strong that **** is never coming off

it has a bunch of little rubber ***** in it which give it a nice texture

As for the fading I heard you can just spray some armor-all on that will shine it right up again

Guys pictures! That's cool. I have the same green and my clear coat is shot on the hood and roof. I was think about something like this but still indecisive.

if you use that ice wax it makes it look brand new, i had a problem with fading and if you leave mud on it too long it actually stains the paint, i used the roll on stuff over top of all the spray on i did and its a little glossier than the spray stuff so mud doesnt stick to it as much, the spray on stuff is like sandpaper haha

What brand is this stuff that the OP used? I saw where it said he got it from Auto Zone but didn't see the brand.

I Believe its Rustoleum Bed Liner in a can from Vato Zone, but dont remember for sure if that was it. It just shows a newer white ford pickup on the can, it shows the bed being bed lined, you really cant miss it.
