Bed-liner as paint for jeep?

just do what you want don't relie on others to tell you if it is OK or not because you are the one living with it if it comes out like ****. if you think it is cool then do it i will probably do mine next year since i have scratched the hell out of it and don't want to pay to paint a trail rig.

...And be very, very, very careful if you go to the bathroom while you are putting it on! You get that stuff on your skin and it stays there for a loooong time!

Found some pictures of a Grand Cherokee ZJ with this stuff on it, personally I would only do my fenders, rockers and quarter panels.

Meant to post this earlier, but here is a pic of mine. Bought a gallon of Herculiner from Autozone, only ended up using 1/4 of the can after doing the bottoms of the doors, door jambs, rocker panels, quarter panels, and rear bumper. I will be doing the new front bumper soon (just bought a JCR Offroad pre-runner bumper) with this stuff as well.

^ Awesome. How crazy is the prep supposed to be for this stuff to stick? I am sanding the fender flares right now but I was thinking of removing them to do a better job. Is that necessary? How do you even remove the flares? (Sorry, n00b still)

Prepping for bedliner? Not much, actually! I scuffed the paint with 600 grit sandpaper, wiped it off with lacquer thinner, and put it on with a cheap brush. Came out as smooth as spray-on! I masked the flares and the metal that I didn't want to paint carefully, and it came out great. Maybe 2 hours worth of work?

I did my entire floorboards and rockers in Herculiner, used the whole gallon and could use more on the outside. I used a rotary sander with 80 grit sand paper. It holds dirt very well too, but I havent tried to clean it yet (been on a month or so)

I rolled it over the entire XJ. It has been on for almost a year and still holding up great. Mine already had the Herculiner in it when I purchased it, It was black at the time and fading, it is now grey.

I used bedliner on my rockers but I keep noticeing that its slightly peeling in some spots. I used the stuff from walmart, is it the brand of bedliner or do i just need to do better prep work? I lightly sanded it and wiped it down pretty well before app.
