88 XJ with new battery and altenator. Turn signals are also not working even though fuses are good. Can there be some relation to the two problems?

 

Replaced Altenator and it still goes dead after 2-3 days. somethin is pulling juice with the switch off. but what is it?

 

listen for any noises coming from anywhere when its off

 

hhm... have fun with that one... make sure no lights are on... fuel pumps off... and make sure all the battery terminals from the battery to wherever they go are clean...

 

disconnect neg. cable use test light from neg. on battery to body light will probably come on then pull one fuse at a time until light goes out then find short.

 

maybe you have a short in the back hatch i noticed my 89 alil after i bought was stone dead after 3 days i had put a new battery right after i bought it i thought a speaker amp might have killed it till one daay i noticed my dome lights where on after had replaced a speaker in the rear hatch i got em to go out once playing with things the door the switch oiled it. But i might not have solved it u could look into it though

 

I've got a related issue with mine. Battery started draining down overnight the last few days. From what I can tell with my multimeter, the battery is good, and the alternator is good. Looks like I have a parasitic drain. Did what was directed above with the test light, and I did get some noticeable light. Pulled fuses until it went out, and it ended up being the "40A Fuse Box" fuse. Pulled that, and the light went out. Where do I go from there? Guessing that references the fuse box inside the vehicle, right?

 

it might be a short with the turn signals

 

make sure your radio isn't pulling power lol happend to me.

 

anything aftermarket installed?
