Default Bastard Pack Issues: Need Help

I'm trying to get my Jeep off of Jack stands until I can get a proper lift kit. In the meantime though, I'm hoping to get a little bastard pack on. I have 93 Blazer leafs and cannot, for the life of me, drill 3/8" holes through the XJ leafs for the wider bolts. I've gone through multiple bits. What am I not doing right over here? Also, if anyone has experience with these leafs, how much lift can I expect by just adding the main leaf from the Blazer (Educated Guesses Welcomed)?

Thanks,
s

good luck drilling through spring steel.

are they full size blazer leafs?
you should be using s-10 size leafs so you get 2 1/2" wide leafs with the approx correct length, while cutting off the eyelets.

s-10 leafs should have the correct center pin size already.

A carbide burr on a die grinder will get through it.

Use a high quality drill bit and lots of oil to keep the drill bit cool. When I did my
BP I had to drill out the XJ leaf as the Dakota leafs all had the larger center pin (RC lift kit came with both size center pins for AAL). I drilled out the XJ mains and it took 2 drill bits and a bit of time but it is doable. Drill for about 30 seconds, then dunk drill bit into some oil to cool (I was using waste oil from recent oil change).
