Default bar pin eliminator for shocks

im looking at doing a budget 3" lift, but recently replaced the shocks on my 97. will a bar pin eliminator raise the shock mount enough to allow me to still use mt stock shocks? my truck spends about 90% of its life on the pavement. also no extreme articulation will be done.

also i was thinking i could make my own bar pin eliminator, with 2 sections of angle iron drilled to the proper size for a bolt to fit snugly in the shock bushing eye. tighten that up nice, then bolt it to the truck, front and back. if they are still to short could a guy put some 1x2 squre tubing between the eliminator and the stock mounting holes, or would this be to prone to breakage?

soorry for the bombardment of questions!

Well, the fact that the top of your front shocks is pin shaped, vs a shock that has a hole/bushing a BPE will not work for the top. In theory you can make a lower BPE that is raised.

yes the rod style end will stay the same. im talking about the lower mount on the front. i was wondering if putting a 1" spacer in there would compromise anything, again i dont wheel my truck hard, so as long as its highway worthy
