Default Ballist Resistor Help!!!

I got a 1989 jeep cheorkee and got the 4.0L in it and was wondering if anybody has any trouble with the ballist resistor?

they can go bad, never really heard of it on here though. I just got rid of mine.

piece of 14ga wire with spade connectors on both ends.

mine measures 1.5 ohms and was working fine when I took it out.

not really, you pry have wire laying around, or can buy it at a hardware store for like 10c a foot.. and the ends where only like 15c each.

Im not sure how much the resistor sells for..

I found one for only like $8.99. I also live in Michigan where everything is pricy!!

If it goes bad would it cause the engine to not start?
