Default Bad Vibration

Looking for some knowledgeable input. I changed my transmission mount and driver side motor mount last night, and i went to drive and now there is a bad vibration. I have not had a chance to check under the Jeep yet due to rain. I dont know how long the mounts were bad, so im not sure if it allowed other things to wear funny? Any help is useful. thank you.

Passenger side looks good. but i know looks may be deceiving. could there be binding/alignment issues between old(passenger side) and new(driver side) engine mounts?

Yes. The properties/memory of the passenger side mount has changed.
Look at it now that you replaced the other one.

Also, how tight did you make the crossbolts?

I usually leave them loose, start the engine, shift from R to D a few times and then tighten those.

I'll go ahead and swap that mount out tonight. I cranked the cross bolt tight. I was thinking it was going to clamp tight on the metal sleeve. is there anything with the tranny mount that would effect things?

Not unless you got a crappy one that allows the exhaust to ride on the crossmember.

Not Anchor. It was a cheap-o complete kit online. strapped for cash, and i needed it now. the jeep is my daily driver......for now. Its like the vibe is in the driveline. i had the jeep idling in the garage and it seemed to be just fine. its when the jeep is moving, or i guess possible under a load.

Generally, if I replace one mount, I replace em all. And, I agree with threading and snuggling everything and then putting it in gear and reverse then park and turning it off and tightening all to spec. Don't strip out the trans mount bolts. GL.

I checked it out last night. It looks like the culprit is a cheap trans mount. The exhaust is laying on the cross member.

Really common I'm afraid. I first put an anchor mount in. And when I mentioned it on this forum someone responded that I shouldn't get concerned when I heard the exhaust thumping on the crossmember by the next morning. I thought they were joking. They weren't. I got to do the job again the next weekend with a real transmission mount.

I ended up writing a post about it with pictures:

What brand transmission mount did you use so others can avoid it? You said it wasnt Anchor.
