I think my starter is going bad because I have to hit it a couple of times to get it to run. After it cranks up, I can turn off the car and the next day i am able to crank the car up with ease and so forth the next days. The problem occurs only once every 2-3 months. I was wondering if the starter is bad in general, or could it just possibly be that the starter is loose?(if thats even possible)

any thoughts guys?

 

Well my guess would be a bad starter but you are better off pulling it and having it tested. Typically if you can tap the starter for it to work then it's going bad and needs either rebuilt or replaced.
