i think 93 or 96 xj i kick myself for not buying those same seats. i pulled out all the seats but couldn't get the bolt loose on driver side. i threw the rest of the seats back in the jeep cuz they were closing. came back to the jy several days later and they had crushed the jeep.

I think it's built into the seat. My wife says that about my '92 Laredo.

Does your driver's side sit significantly more reclined than the passenger side,with both seat backs all the way forward?

If so, you may have to shim up the back seat bolts to tilt the whole seat forward. A little at the bottom will make a bigger difference at the top.
