Bad motor or regulator for passenger window.
Howdy all,
my front passenger window out of the blue stopped working. Wasn't a big deal since it stopped working fully closed.
got enough time to finally fix it and assess what's wrong. So took off all the covers to get to the motor and regulator.
so what I know, the motor is getting power but nothing is happening. The motor makes no noise, nothing clicks, so I don't really know what's wrong.
should I just replace the entire mechanism or is there an easy fix to this.
all other windows work and it's not the parental control switch that sometimes fails.

if so it sounds bad, but dont hear of many.
i like to unhook completly and check with an ohmmeter, resistance should read low like under 20 ohms, maybe 10
btw, my pass window stopped working for a while! idk why yet!, ok now

if it ran the window up the gears must be ok. could be just motor if that is replaceable itself. can you see the gears or teeth on regulator?
can you connect 12 v direct to motor connections? do that b4 deciding.

Sorry for the late reply. Testing through multimeter. I check the voltage on the wires coming from jeep and they have power supply. Didnt check the gear teeth or the resistance of the motor.
If there are any other pointers cuz i already had to take apart that door 3 times in 2 days.

Welcome to the forum!
Please confirm that both polarities of the vehicle voltage are present on the motor terminals, when the UP switch and then the DOWN switch are selected.
If that is true, then the existing window regulator motor or the window regulator is bad.
Please update your profile to identify your vehicle.
Here is a window regulator for my vehicle.
Here is a window regulator w/ motor for my vehicle.
Remove the regulator, then detach the motor from the regulator. Determine if the motor is working or not when detached from the regulator, then get the appropriate replacement part.
