Bad Coolant Reservoir Cap?

Default Bad Coolant Reservoir Cap?
My coolant reservoir cap seems to not be venting. It builds pressure when hot, and vacuum when cold. Can I just drill a hole in the top of the cap? What gives?

It not supposed to vent . You have a closed cooling system. It made to hold pressure.

Good to know, but as far as I can tell, the cap I have seems to be doing it's job just fine. I thought it odd that it held pressure, is all. I'll put it on tight when cold and monitor it. Thanks.

Bottle only should be half full so it has room for expansion.
