bad carrier bearings

bad carrier bearings
i found out that i have bad carrier bearing in my dana 30. I was wondering if i replaced the old bearings and races with new would i have to re-shim?

You'll want the pinion gear too. The ring and pinion wear together like bearings and races. If you mix up 2 of the same bearings with 2 of the same races they will wear out almost twice as fast.
