My back running lights on my 1989 jeep comanche were not working when i bought it. But then out of no were started to work. Then one day didnt work anymore. When they work also the dash lights work and when they dont dash lights dont. So i know that they are connected. I checked the fuse and it is not that. But what i want to know is could it be a ground wire or what? How can i find the problem thank you.

It could be the switch. Also, many vehicles are designed so that if the fuse for the taillights goes out, it will turn off your dash lights too, that way you know they're not working. I know you said you checked the fuse, but I'd go back and make sure you aren't having intermittent contact issues and double check the contacts for the fuse. They may be corroded or bent/fatigued and not making good contact.
