I'm no expert and drive a tonka toy compared to some of these rigs and I'm getting tired of seeing the same questions over and over. P.S. There's also this great invention called google! Try it...
X2...btw pirate 4x4 stinks! If you think flaming is bad here.....try them out lol. This site is great.

Rims with good backspacing would be a better choice in my opinion. That way you aren't adding parts to an already fragile piece of equipment.
Never said they would fit like a glove and the OP said what axles so I told him.

on a secondary note as long as we are talking about upgrades, at what point do i have to worry about upgrading my axels. Im building a low compression stroker that will produce about 360 ft/lbs and i am going to run 33's do i need to upgrade???

I was getting more at the fact that the axles you suggested are closer to the same width as the stockers, so it most likely won't have the OP's desired effect.

Thats all I was saying.

It depends on how you drive, what you plan to do with the truck, and how big your tires are.

But most importantly, we would need to know what axles you currently have.

The axles I mentioned are full width 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton and are not any where near the same width as stock. Unless you consider 6-8" about the same.

Lol, I need to hear specs on this.

I know you're not talking about making that on a n/a 4.0 based motor

Yes, and if it uses the jeep 4.0 block, then it is 4.0 based. Weather it'd stroked to 4.5, 4.7, 5.0 or whatever

Like I said, I want to hear specs. Pulling those numbers on a LOW compression stroker will be pretty hard to accomplish on motor power only.

The motor is going to be a 98 4.0 block with keith black .030 over pistons the block will be decked to .005 with a .043 head gasket it has a aftermarket high output head 256 lift cam at 192/200 duration as well as amc 4.2 crank and heads and bolt on goodies. The final compression ratio will be 8.75 to 1 and it should be in the 340 to 360 ft/lbs department and only like 235 hp with a banks torque tube and high flow exhaust.

I can find dana 44's off of a grand wagoneer but i dont know it this if necessary of if building the current axels will be enough.

Well see, I'm just not sure that setup with that mild of a cam can pull off those numbers
