There's enough guys on here that have done these swaps and if u show a little patience then maybe somebody will be willing to help u. These guys get tired of seeing the same tech thread questions and having to give the same answers because someone didn't use search. I'm no expert and drive a tonka toy compared to some of these rigs and I'm getting tired of seeing the same questions over and over. If u continue flaming people then I suggest u go try your luck on pirate4x4 and let me know how that works out for ya. Otherwise try and be nice.
P.S. There's also this great invention called google! Try it...

Here's the scoop. The OP said he wanted a wider stance. If you drop in those "fit like a glove" axles, its not gonna accomplish what he's looking for.
Rims with good backspacing would be a better choice in my opinion. That way you aren't adding parts to an already fragile piece of equipment.

on a secondary note as long as we are talking about upgrades, at what point do i have to worry about upgrading my axels. Im building a low compression stroker that will produce about 360 ft/lbs and i am going to run 33's do i need to upgrade???
Thats all I was saying.
But most importantly, we would need to know what axles you currently have.
its got the chrysler read and dana 30 up front i drive it about 20 miles a day on pavement with some roadtrips now and agian than i go offroading 2 times a month depending on weather. I was gonna run 33 x 12.50s on 15 x 10 rims and if i keep my factroy axels im gonna do luchbox style lockers. Any help would be awesome thanks

[QUOTE=Gee oh Dee;790851]I was getting more at the fact that the axles you suggested are closer to the same width as the stockers, so it most likely won't have the OP's desired effect.
Thats all I was saying.
The axles I mentioned are full width 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton and are not any where near the same width as stock. Unless you consider 6-8" about the same.

I know you're not talking about making that on a n/a 4.0 based motor

The motor is going to be a 98 4.0 block with keith black .030 over pistons the block will be decked to .005 with a .043 head gasket it has a aftermarket high output head 256 lift cam at 192/200 duration as well as amc 4.2 crank and heads and bolt on goodies. The final compression ratio will be 8.75 to 1 and it should be in the 340 to 360 ft/lbs department and only like 235 hp with a banks torque tube and high flow exhaust.
I can find dana 44's off of a grand wagoneer but i dont know it this if necessary of if building the current axels will be enough.
