BTW the 28 spline 8.8 is barely stronger than a 35.
I'd say its more than barely. it'll handle 33s fine I'd say but then I haven't had much experience with the 28 spline 8.8

Just 1 quick question ( not tryin' a thread jack, just don't think it's worth a whole thread) Will the 8.8 work fine with a 28 spline? I might get 1 for just over $100
I know right? haha But its a addiction man. This is my first jeep.

well Im gonna be lookin for a 8.25 then. Seems like the best and easiest solution. Now Im pretty sure once I find me a new rear end I wanna re gear it to 4.10. Is that the best ratio I should run with 33's?I want decent mileage still, but best all around set up. Anybody out there running 33's with 4.10's?

Also... as you can tell I know very little about what axle is better. If I can find a D44, would it be better to get then the 8.25? Im totally find with some fab work to make it work. But is the d44 a lot stronger then the 8.25?

Its stronger but not A LOT stronger. I'd go with the 8.25 and save the ground clearance.

The d44 is much much stronger then the 8.25 and the 8.8. The only issue with the d44 is, drive shaft, I dont know for sure, but I think you would have to get a conversion u joint. Spring perches, you would have to weld the new spring perches for your leafs. Shock mounts, which are the easiest part, but still welding, and then if you care about your lug bolt pattern. If you dont get a 5X4.5 lug size, you will have to get new rims. And I personally would never run different rims on the rear then on the front. And also pinion angle!!!! If your angle is off, you will get bad vibes which I would hate for a DD. Just make sure you do all those things perfectly and the only upgrade from a 44 would be going full size corpret 14 bolt. If you have the time and the skills, go for it imo!

For 33s? Completely unnecessary.

Sorry, but the Chrysler 8.25, with Randy's 29 spline alloy shafts @ 70.64 each makes the 8.25 as strong as or stronger than the d44. The 8.25 has a larger pinion shaft diameter and larger diameter axle tubes than the d44 and the 1541H alloy shafts are as strong as stock d44 30 spline shafts. The upgraded 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 is everything you will need for running up to 37 inch tires.

I'd go with 4.10s if you're DDing it. 4.56s if you're planning on wheeling often. If you wheel like every weekend or every second weekend I'd maybe think about 4.27 although I've never seen anyone run 4.27s. In all honesty I didnt even realize they made 4.27 for the D30/C8.25 combo
