I have a 93 XJ with the country package. I bought a donor, same year same package. I swapped out the front axle because the driver bearing was new and the pass long shaft was as well. The issue i'm having is that the axle shafts have cv style joints. I didnt think a 93 XJ could come with CVs. Anybody see or hear of this before. Also are these stronger or weaker because im looking into getting a set of shafts with the bigger u joints from a 97+ jeep. Thanks

 

They came in AWD Grand Cherokees IIRC...they are NOT stronger, but the larger u joint upgrade you spoke of would fix that for sure.

No telling...but if they were in a bind for axle shafts, or an entire axle, the PO may have used that axle...
